SOLO: Life Lately: Coming Home, Slowing Down & What’s on My Heart
After five weeks away, I’m back behind the mic and this episode is a little life catch-up from me to you
I’m sharing some of the moments that filled my cup this summer: biking through Amsterdam, visiting the Anne Frank House, slowing down by the sea in Deauville, celebrating my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, and soaking up time with my very big (and beautifully chaotic) family.
But coming home has also had me thinking about what travel gives us beyond the trip itself: perspective.
I’ve been reflecting on the slower, more communal way of living I experience when I’m in Europe, how working from home has changed the way so many of us connect, and why I’m craving more community and clearer boundaries between work and home in this next season.
I also share a little behind the scenes of life lately—from an unexpectedly slow workday that felt like exactly what I needed, to celebrating four years of marriage with Raúl and the questions we ask each other every anniversary.
And finally, I open up about something that’s been on my heart: how we can grow spiritually as a couple and create practices that help us feel connected to something bigger than ourselves.
In this episode, we chat about:
What five weeks away reminded me about rest and perspective
Why travel always makes me reconsider how I want to live at home
The European approach to community and connection I want to bring back with me
My evolving relationship with working from home
The four questions Raúl and I asked each other on our wedding anniversary
A few books, shows, and very random life updates along the way
Consider this our coffee date after a few weeks apart. I’m so happy to be back!
